My fifth firing was on June 7th. It went really well- I feel like I have a good understanding of my kiln and how it wants to be fired. Check out the Gallery for new images. I am currently working towards my next kiln load (to be fired August 30th).
This year I have been elected to be on the board of the Toe River Arts Council. This is an organization that does tons to support the artists in my area. We just had our spring tour, and the next studio tour is the first weekend of December.
This fall I will participate in the Spruce Pine Potters Market/ This is a great group of potters from my area who I am lucky to show with. Really, the best chance to come up this way and see great pots and potters all in one place!
I am a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. I will be showing at their fall show at the Asheville Civic Center, October 16th to 19th, 2008.
