Happy Solstice!

June 14th, 2011

Greetings! Here on Snow Creek things are in full bloom. We are excitedly awaiting our newest addition! The Studio Tour was a big success- thanks to everyone who came out to see us. Our showroom is still tidy and ready for visitors this summer- if you’re in the area, please stop by.

This fall you can see me, my new work, and our new little one at the Spruce Pine Potters Market. This show is a great time to take a trip to the mountains and see some of our very best all in one spot. The show will be on October 8 and 9 from 10am to 5pm.

I am also going to be at the Southern Highlands Craft Guild’s Fall Show. My husband John Geci and I will be sharing a booth. The show runs from October 20 to 23, from 10am to 6pm each day. This is a fun show for us- Asheville is town with good foods and lots of our friends do the show too.

Hope to see you soon!

April Update

April 4th, 2011 April Update

Greetings! It’s really spring here on Snow Creek Rd! Hooray! I just fired my kiln for the first time this year, and am getting ready to take a break from making pottery. John and I are expecting a new addition to our little world this summer. We’re very excited.

I am taking a break from the usual spring shows to spend some time at home. John Geci and I are going to be on the Toe River Arts Council Studio Tour. As always, this is the best time to come by our place and see what we’ve been working on. The spring tour will take place June 10 from 12 to 4pm, and June 11 and 12 from 10am to 6pm. This spring we’ll have two guest artists: Encaustic painter Jim Waters and Woodworker David Scott. Come take a tour of our beautiful area and see some incredible art and craft!

As a new member of the Potters of the Roan, I am participating in their group show at the Mahler Gallery in Raleigh. The show runs from May 6 to June 4, 2011, with an opening reception on May 6 from 6-9pm. It’s going to be a great show!

In the fall you will be able to see me and my new work at both the Spruce Pine Potters Market, and the Southern Highlands Craft Guild show.

Winter 2011

January 6th, 2011 Winter 2011

Its a quiet time here on Snow Creek Rd. We’ve had lots of snow so far, and are going through the wood! John has been busy cutting and splitting wood to keep us warm!

I am back in the studio making pots in preparation for spring. It’s going well- I’m working on a few new ideas, a dinner set, work for a couple gallery shows, and some other commission pieces. As always, our showroom is open. Come on up and see us anytime!

Last Sales of the Year!

November 30th, 2010 Last Sales of the Year!

I fired my kiln yesterday for the last time this year. These pots are going strait up to our showroom for the Studio Tour. I think there are some real nice ones in there…

The Toe River Arts Council Studio Tour is December 3rd from 12 to 4, and December 4th and 5th from 10 to 5. This is such a fun tour- there are over 100 artists, and lots of really good work! John Geci and I have been working hard to re-do our showroom, and it’s looking good! This December jeweler Amy Tavern will be our guest artist. We’ll have refreshments, glass blowing, and a really cute dog to pet!

John and I are doing our second annual Holiday Online Sale after the Tour. The sale will begin Wednesday December 8th at 10am. I will be posting images on our Etsy page that morning. You can find the link to the page here on Wednesday.

Hope we see you this holiday season!

Fall is going by fast!

November 2nd, 2010 Fall is going by fast!

It’s been another hectic fall. I’ve fired my kiln twice this fall, and I’m gearing up for one more (with the help of my friend and neighbor- potter Michael Kline)!
Come see me at the Marshall Handmade Market on November 20 at the Marshall High Studios in downtown Marshall.
The first weekend of December is the Toe River Arts Council Studio Tour. This is the best time to come out to our studios and see what we’re up to. John and I are both working to make lots of new pieces for the studio tour. This tour we’re excited to have jeweler Amy Tavern as our guest artist. The tour is Friday (December 3) from 12 to 4, and Saturday and Sunday (December 4 and 5) from 10 to 5. Come see us!
We will have an online sale for our friends and customers who can’t make it to the tour beginning Wednesday, December 8 at 10am. I will have a link to the sale from here.
Hope to see you this fall!

Fall 2010

July 19th, 2010 Fall 2010

Greetings!
What a wild summer it has been. John and I traveled to Okinawa for my solo show at Ryubo. It was an amazing trip- we saw loads of pottery, ate exceptional food, and had a successful show. We’re back now, and in the studio filled with new ideas of pots to make for the fall.

This fall I will be showing at the Bakersville Creekwalk. This is a one day (Saturday September 25, 2010) show about 3 miles from my house. My husband (John Geci) will also have a booth.

October 9th and 10th I will have my work at the Spruce Pine Potters Market. This is really our area’s best show of pottery. I am always proud to do this show!

October 21st to 24th is the Southern Highlands Craft Guild show at the convention center in Asheville.

I was invited by Kyle Carpenter to be in the “Asheville in Atlanta” show at Mudfire Gallery. The show opens October 9th.

June 2010

June 16th, 2010 June 2010

It has been a hectic spring here on Snow Creek Rd. As the weather gets hotter I’m busy shipping pottery to Okinawa for my opening at Ryubo Gallery. My opening is on July 20th and I am lucky to get the chance to travel there.

Meanwhile I am experimenting in my studio with new forms. You will be able to see my work this fall at the Spruce Pine Potters Market, October 9th and 10th.
I will be showing at the Fall Southern Highlands Guild Show in Asheville, October 21st to October 24th.
